The execution permission
for the file might have been changed during download and some Linux
systems might not allow directly launching an application by mouse click
in the Desktop folder.
To install the
PMA-Linux-x86-Install.bin file, open a Terminal window and issue the
following commands under the command line :
$cd /Desktop
$chmod u+x
PMA-Linux-x86-Install.bin
$./PMA-Linux-x86-Install.bin
To reduce the memory usage, the large
size images will be automatically resized to the default 1024 x 768
pixels or the
screen size in PelScreen and 800 x 600 pixels in PM Animation.
Not in this the current
release. PM Animation does not parse swf files nor does it support
ActionScript™ in this release.
Some video media players use hardware
acceleration buffer for better performance. In order to capture the
video images using PelScreen, you would need to turn off the hardware
acceleration feature from the media players that you are using.
PelPlayer is a very
basic player that is created to play back the video clips captured
using PelScreen. However, it can play ogg sound file and uncompressed sound files in the formats of wav, au, aiff and midi.
It also can display images in the formats of jpeg and png.
If your sound card supports multiplexing, then you can capture sound from the sound card using PelScreen.
